I have a 21 Lariat fully loaded minus the 360 cam but it has the camera button above the screen. I use it from time to time when pulling a trailer or to see how close someone is to me at a light. Nothing super important but it’s really the fact that I paid for this feature and Ford took it away.

A while ago I received an over the air update and the camera button stopped working. It does absolutely nothing now, not even the message “camera is unavailable while driving”.

I had Ford diagnose it, and they need to update the truck module by module until it resolves the issue BUT they want over $1000 to do these updates. I made it clear this was a result of an OTA update but since I cannot prove it then I have to pay.

Has anyone else experienced this and what did you do to resolve it? Feels like extortion, I bought the truck with the feature so I expect to have it for the lifetime of the vehicle but they want me to pay to restore it is BS.

If you have FORScan, you can fix it yourself.

 

I do have forscan, is there a thread on what needs to be changed?

 

First thing I would check is what value you have here in the APIM and make sure it shows the rear camera is listed as present. For rear camera only, it should be an 8 there.
