Default Black Screen

My 2021 Plat. has had intermittent screen failure for the past week. Turning the lights to auto and back sometimes helps for a bit but then the screen dies again. Taking it in this week but wondering if it's a low battery issue.

I just saw a video on this…not sure if it’s the same problem for you, but it may help. This guy fixed it by clicking the brightness control button to the left of the steering wheel, and the screen immediately came back on. It was caused from a faulty APIM (accessory power module) that needed to be replaced.

Ford Engineering is aware and working on a repair. At this time I wouldn't be surprised if soon Dealer's won't be able to do anything with the concern until Ford says so.

Had the same issue but wasn't intermittent, it went out on Christmas day and never came back on until I brought it to dealer last week. The button cluster above the radio and the USB charging port under the radio also went dead same day.

Surprisingly the APIM wasn't dead but had lost communication with the PCM. They manually updated it and I haven't had a problem with any of them since.

Granted its only been 6 days but hopefully it holds up

I have a 2022 that is only 5 months old. The screen has gone black. Took it to the dealer, they kept it for 2 days before telling me that it needs a new screen. The screen has bee
n on order for over 2 months. Anybody got any ideas on what I could try?

Default Intermittent Black Screen

Last weekend I purchased a 2021 Ford F-150 Lariat from Will Titus Ford in Tacoma Washington. On the test drive I noticed the screen turning off then back on every few minutes. The sales rep said it was just adjusting to the light in the cabin and it will sort itself out. I went ahead and purchased the vehicle anyway, but after four hours of diving since, the screen continues to black out every few minutes. I found adjusting the screen brightness on the left of the steering wheel will turn it back on, but it's a less than ideal situation when you need to check your navigation and it's not there. I really hope this can be fixed via OTA updates. Ford Motor Co, can you please push an update to my vehicle to fix this?

I can't say that I know for a fact, but I call B.S. on this. There is no logical reason the screen would go black to adjust to cabin light. If it was dimming, I would buy it. But off? Nope, sorry. If they have a 48-hour "Love it or leave it" program or something similar, I would be taking that truck back. You may be waiting for a long time to get the screen replaced with all of the shortages now going on.

Sales rep lied to you. Sound like a bad APIM

Default 2021 Lariat

I have a 21 Lariat and the screen quit working. Took to the dealer and they told me it was the screen and replaced it, then said oops, wasn’t the screen, it’s the APIM. Long story short, been waiting on the APIM for over a month and they keep telling me it’s ordered, not on back order, but Ford won’t tell them when it will ship. Getting kinda tired of driving a $65k truck with a screen that won’t work. Anyone know what I can do?
