It’s these module issues that made me buy the extended warranty. The ford premium care out to 100k. Cost just over 3k. But I’ve had two electrical/module issues so far. Heated seats and reverse brake assist. All under warranty, but made me wonder how things will hold up. The seats were just a “reprogramming” issue they said, but it it was out of warranty would that have charged? I’m sure they would have.

I’m a ford guy and really like my truck (2021 lariat) but ford really needs to step up and get all this sorted. It’s not so much a supply issue, as it is a cost to fix faster/supply issue.

Getting kinda tired of driving a $65k truck with a screen that won’t work. Anyone know what I can do?
When the screen blacks out, hit your instrument cluster light level adjustment buttons near your headlight switch. The screen isn't going out, as in, the display is still on and displaying. What happens is the backlight dims down to nothing. With the right light and the right angle you will see that the screen is still very much on. By hitting the interior light dimmer button down then up, it turns the backlight back on. It's a stupid problem and it took about 3 months for my APIM to come in. You can also do the soft reset (Power button and seek forward held at the same time for 10 seconds) and it should come back up. But the instrument light thing is quicker.

There isn't much you can do about the replacement timing unfortunately. Maybe with enough anger and case escalation they might get you one sooner, but no guarantees.

Default May need soft software reset

Mine needed a soft software reset. Hold the power and skip buttons on the controls under the screen at the same time for about 10 seconds and the screen should reset and the ford logo comes up
