Just signed up after reading this site for a couple months. Great info here. Last October a dealer about 45 min away had a brand new 2022 F150 XLT extended cab that was their service department loaner. It went into service for them in January of 23. Only 2800 miles. Got a great deal and experience. Friday morning I received a low battery alert on my phone so I went out and truck was dead. Verified that nothing was left on too.. After researching this site awhile back I remembered that Ford had battery issues going into 2021 and obviously it was built late 2021 so I new about this. Instead of going back and forth with the dealer I decided to just take it to Les Schwab and have a new battery installed instead of trying to get it into the dealer at a reasonable time. Question is after all this time I have not seen much recently on this site about this so I hope it was just a bad battery. At least now if it drains again I know its a truck electrical problem.... Thanks..
If you didn't, you need to reset the BMS (see attachment) after fully charging the new battery; most new batteries are not fully charged when you buy them. I also reset the battery state of charge on the truck by locking the doors using the door lock switch, closing the door, and letting the truck sit for 8 hours minimum. This should be done after the battery is fully charged and the BMS was reset. It gives the best opportunity for long battery life and no further truck system "low battery" issues.
Thanks. Yes, right when I brought it home after the new battery was installed I locked the truck and it sat over-night for more than 8 hours. Drove it yesterday for a 6 hour round trip with no issues so far....

The ideal situation in my opinion would be that they should have fully charged the battery before the install, not relying on the vehicle to do it.
I have a 22 King Ranch Powerboost. I've had zero issues with my truck except for one time the battery died going down the road and put my truck in limp mode. It's the one and only thing that occasionally causes me to lack confidence in my truck. With this is mind, is there any reason I can't purchase a new battery as a backup and keep it somewhere in my truck? Where would you guys recommend keeping it? As long as it's brand new and not hooked up to anything, would I still need to charge it periodically?
Was it this same model? I think the one a step lower than this model had some issues but read where this one was better starting an almost dead battery.
