Thank you Sir. You are awesome, and a great part of this fouram. A trip to the dealer it is.

@rugedraw Would you mind running my VIN and tell me why the latest OTA is not going through ?
I'm planning on booking an appointment with the dealership as the truck is still under warranty but before I do, I'd like to have an idea of what the issue is.

VIN: 1FTFW1E52MKE19433

Thank you

Battery is way below spec. Charge is at 53% and capcity is also low at 35 out of 70 assuming you have the OEM H6 battery in there.

Thanks mate !

I'll get myself another battery and do all the things associated with that and hopefully, the OTAs will go through.

Not sure if you’re willing to look up another VIN. I just purchased a 2021 power boost and it is on a very old update. SYNC 4, Software Version: 22087_PRODUCT

Revision: 415

Ford Motor Company

everything seems to be enabled and I did a reset just to be sure. 1FTFW1ED6MFA76268. If not, I understand and will look into replacing the battery.

22087 is very old, but it is past the broken sync software that prevents more updates from coming. What is weird is that Ford shows your truck is on Sync 21233 which is one version newer than what you have. OTA history only goes back 180 days, and no updates have been sent to you in the past 6 months which is longer than usual, but also not completely abnormal. Connectivity is working fine.

I don't think Bluecruise has ever worked on this truck. What's interesting is that the IPMA software on it is beta Bluecruise 1.4 that was only available with FDRS, so this truck was manually updated at some point about 2 years ago. Either by the previous owner or a dealer. Your truck is reporting a code between the GWM and IPMA that cites incompatibilites between the software on those modules. Your GWM is on 4-5 year old software and the IPMA is on software from 2023. So you're missing full-screen phone projection, Bluecruise 1.4, cameras at speed, certan features of pro-trailer assist and I'm sure a lot more things.

I would recommend you look into FDRS and updating it yourself. These early build 2021 trucks are both a blessing and a curse. None of the post-covid feature deletes, but also suceptible to certain issues only 2021 owners had to deal with. If you decide to go the FDRS route, lmk before you invest in the tools needed so I can have someone who still has FDRS access run your VIN to make sure you are showing the correct updates needed to get the truck up to date or at least more up to date.

My Sync update version is 23159 R 915. It refuses to go beyond that. The dealership can't even get it to do anything to update. The most recent recall needs to download the software to update but it won't work. After talking to Ford Motors in MI, they may have to get the tech down to the dealership to help them get this fixed. I had to have my a truck for a job and I will have to take mine back to them in a couple weeks for them to further work on it. No downloads for software or FordPass either.

thank you for the quick response and the detail. That’s the first thing I noticed when I got in the truck is that the screen looked horrible and not full.

From what I understand obtaining the parts to be able to use FPRS is several hundred dollars. Is that’s still accurate? I saw a YouTube video about it, but I will start investigating.

The Mongoose cable is $600 and a proper battery power supply will run you about $100.

Or, you can borrow one of my cables for free. Details are below:

Your case is different. Ford purposely has updates blocked for certain vehicles on Sync 23187 and below. See attached.
