Default AUTO Unlocking

Yes, I've looked in the manual, but can anyone Please tell me how to disable my 21 XLT, to where it will not unlock, etc., upon my approach with my key fob in my pocket?? I did not see it in the manual.

It only unlocks when you put your hand around the door handle. Don't think it has auto unlock on approach.. I drive a Lariat.

I hate to tell you, but the exterior lights come on and my drivers door unlocks when i'm walking up to my vehicle, even if i am about 10 ft away. If I have the key fob in my pocket, the truck will even unlock if i walk too close to the garage entry door, while I'm inside my house. It's driving me CRAZY!!
No joke. It really does that. Unlocks the drivers door. Maybe the passenger front, but definitely the drivers. I'd as soon the truck does nothing until I manually hit the key fob button myself.

My salesman even told me it would. It was cool, at first. Now, it's IRRITATING. Thanks for any replies. I do appreciate it.

Certainly not trying to insult you, but are you sure it’s unlocking? My welcome lighting is accompanied by a distinct clicking sound, but my truck doesn’t unlock until I put my hand on the door handle. Could yours be clicking as well, which sounds like it’s unlocking? Might approach it and try opening a rear door to verify if it’s unlocking.

I to have a 21xlt.

I read the OP post and went “Huh?”

the truck does turn on welcome lights, and emit multiple load relay like clicks.

But the doors do NOT Unlock.

Even opening the tailgate does not unlock the cab.

Sorry but you’re mistaken.

Have a 21 lariat and mine also does the clicking, it the OP's in unlocking, then there is something wrong and would take it in to service. Do not ask salesman, half the time they have no idea what they are selling

My 22 Lariat definitely doesn't unlock but does as others have said with the lighting and some clicking. If the OP's doors are unlocking it needs to go back to his Ford dealership to be rectified.

No sir. No insulting at all. But, yes, I hear a clicking sound and the door is unlocked as soon as i pull the handle.
So, whether it is actually unlocking or not......
To just cut to the chase, so to speak... Is there ANY WAY of keeping the truck from doing ANY OF IT? I'd really just like to manually activate all that by manually "clicking" my key fob.

I most definitely appreciate all replies. Thank yall!!
