Default Another rattle - Back Window

Since it's gotten warmer (now over 100 here in AZ) I had a rattle from music develop in the back seat and I decided to finally get out there and try to figure out what it is. I think I found it. It's part of the sliding rear window. The metal track is inside a plastic surround that is vibrating against the metal track. I temporarily put something in there (doesn't affect the window operation) and during testing it helped. Gonna leave it there for a bit and see if it still helps when driving around as well. If that does solve this one I'll think of something more permanent to do.

Mine was the glass itself.

I thought it was the glass at first as well as putting a little pressure would stop the rattle, then I looked more and found that it was this area. I think pushing the glass just moved the rail enough to limit the contact for me.

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

There is a TSB for this. I had it done by the dealer and while it did help, I still get a slight rattle if the rear window is all of the way open. What I do to eliminate the rattle completely is slightly close it just a small amount.

Thanks for that info, that's helpful and looks like the fix is pretty much what I did haha

I used spline from a screen window and ran it inside the seal. I have not heard any noise since. Less than 5 minutes to do.
