Default Adding ProPower 7.2 generator

Is it possible to add the 7.2KW generator to a Powerboost that didn’t have that option? Probably very expensive but I’m looking at a used 2021 model that lacks the feature and I’d sure like that capability. Thanks.

Keep looking.

The area had several with just the 1/2 system and went looking for the full 7.2 system

Even with the half system adding to it is cost prohibitive.

It's like adding a 4x4 to a 2x4.. if you got the bucks.. yeah.. anything can be done.

Anything is possible when it comes to adding a factory option to a truck that doesn't have that option. You could tear an XL down to the frame and bolt in Platinum parts and make it near-as-makes-no-difference a Platinum (which is why it's so eye-roll inducing when someone comes on and says the truck shouldn't do X because it's an $80k truck).

But sourcing the parts, the actual tearing into the truck, reprogramming modules so it knows it is now 7.2kW capable, etc. I mean at that point I would just order a new F-150 with the 7.2kW. Especially since you would go through that work and expense and it likely won't have any warranty to it.

I would have to wonder how it works with a CPU that’s set up to measure and display output from a 2400 watt system that gets a 7200 watt system swapped in. Cost and complexity of getting it to recognize something different from what came
from the factory. Ability to find a dealer even willing to do it.

If the 7.2 Kw is something you absolutely want, you need to buy one with that option. Throw enough money to a problem, you can usually make it happen, but cost it makes no sense.

Either keep looking at dealer lots, or order one. Most cost effective way.
