Unhappy ABS Module Reprogram - Push to start not working

Friday morning my truck wouldnt start, I belive brake fluid ruined my previous ABS module (kept popping both 50A jcase fuses for EBB) So I installed a different EBB from a salvage yard and the truck still wont start. All the codes in forescan are ABS related. I have been told by two people that the truck wont start until the ABS is reprogramed and was told by 3 people it should still start and drive, you just wont have ABS.

Does anyone know for sure if a push to start 2021 F150 should run even without a reprogrammed EBB? Or do I have another issue now?

The ABS module has the VIN written in it's configuration. At the very least, you would need to flash the configuration from your OEM ABS module onto it. Do you have FORScan?

Thank you for the reply! The OEM EBB is a brick, the truck doesn't even see it anymore. And yup I have Forscan thats how I was able to get to this point.

Pull your ab data from here:

https://www.motorcraftservice.com/AsBuilt

Plug in FORScan and go to ABS ab data, scroll to the bottom and click write all and selece the file you downloaded from above. This will write the data from the old module to the new one.

I just remembered that I have the latest files for the ABS. If the one you put in is on old firmware, I can help you update it, but you need the beta version of FORScan to do it.

Could this be casuing the immobilizer to prevent the start?

finally got the truck back from the shop because they quit on it.

They said they updated the firmware of the ABS module,

@dherman304 Immobilizer? What do you mean?

Also:

These three things are preventing it from starting:
SS_DISABL_00
SS_DISABL_01
STRT_BLCK_A_08

Where are you getting this from?

Getting their status from PID

thats why I think its Anti-Theft related (maybe because the new ABS Module)?
STRT_BLCK_A_08 is the antitheft system stopping the start sequence

That I am not sure about.......I would assume the anti-theft would be managed by the BCM; not sure the ABS is part of that system.

When they say they "updated the ABS", what do they mean by that? Was the shop using FDRS?

With FORScan, plug into your truck and when it asks you if you want to use the existing profile, select no so it does a fresh scan. Go to the ABS module and post a screenshot of what you see in lines 706-01-01 through 706-01-04 and message me the VIN.
