2025, which engine?
Should have never sold my 55. The one with the optional heater.
For me it’s not about being afraid of them I just don’t want them in my everyday truck if I can avoid it. I’ve owned ECOBOOSTs before and for me I feel the 5.0 in a F150 makes for the best feeling truck. There is an adjustment period between the 2 engines different characteristics but I think the 5.0 over the course of a 3 months of ownership I’m way more satisfied with it versus the ECOBOOST I had at the same point. One thing is the 5.0 feels better at low rpms under
light throttle just cruising than my ECOBOOST did. At that point before the turbo provided boost I always felt almost a slight lug that was very annoying. Also for me I like the engine braking the 5.0 provides the ECOBOOST had practically zero engine braking going downhill. I also could visually see with the 3.5 it was literally cooking the oil between changes. While my 5.0 the oil still looks new at oil change time the 3.5 was black. Yes the ECOBOOST does have more torque under boost but does come at the expense of generating a lot of heat that you need to be cognizant of. I don’t feel like any of the motors are a bad choice and the 2.7 is a pretty good deal for a base engine. The fuel mileage with the 10 speed amongst all the engine choices is fairly close with the 2.7 a slight advantage overall. The manufacturers pushing these Turbo engines is less about fuel efficiency and more about reducing NOX. I’m going to enjoy the 5.0 while I can.

You’re free to have your opinions but they’re certainly not factual by any means.

A good amount of it - I don’t need to spend the time to dissect it all.
It’s your opinion, which you are absolutely free to have. But it seems you’re getting opinions and facts confused.
You didn’t post any links to things you mentioned being common problems.
None of the engines are a bad choice and with proper maintenance, any of them will last as long as you don’t end up with a lemon.
I love the 2.7 EB. I did almost go with a 5.0 this time around, and would have but it was paired with 3.31 gears and I wasn’t interested in that ratio.
I’ve never driven or owned the 3.5 EB. I’m only speaking of the 2.7 vs 5.0, which is what the OP was asking about.
If you are comparing the 3.5 in all of this, well sure, we’re on different pages.
