So I called a bigger city dealer close to me and he knew exactly what I was asking about and said Ford finally got on board that is was a good thing to replace fluid. Really bothers me that dealer with Ford resources doesn't show it. Costs $169, so I guess I will get it done. After $60k for a truck, I guess it's worth maintaining.
I have a while to go, but $169 isn't bad for a dealer price for that service. It doesn't look fun from what I have seen.

Default Need Help

I'm new to this forum, so I just had my truck serviced today and no one mentioned to me that the brake fluid had to be flushed and replaced. I've had my truck in the shop 3 times since it went over the three year anniversary and no tech has brought it up to me at all from two different dealerships. Seems to me someone at both places don't keep up with the service intervals and I myself need to start paying more attention to it. So what is the interval to have your brakes checked? Ever oil change or is their a particular interval? Please help with any advice.

Brake fluid is subject to water contamination and should be flushed every 2-3 years.

If you are unsure of the moisture content, get you one of these and test the moisture level in the brake fluid reservoir. On my motorcycle, it needs it every 2 years. Like has been posted depends on the location, driving etc. The only good way is to test it, if it shows over 3% it needs to be flushed and the ABS pump system cycled to get the old fluid out of the ABS pump.
