Sync won't connect with Android.
New to me 22 Lariat is driving me insane with erratic phone behaviors. My previous '18 was faultless ... I'm starting to think that was the golden year for F150s.
Often, I get in my truck, Sync automatically connects to my phone, receives and makes calls from either the steering wheel or the screen prompts. Life is good.
However, also quite often, Sync will not connect to my phone, or not connect completely, or just generally do whatever it pleases.
Just today it was normal until I stopped somewhere for a few minutes. When I got back in the truck, the phone rang via Sync over the speakers but when I accepted the call there was no audio.
When I terminated the call via the handset, Sync continued to log the call in progress for several minutes after the caller hung up and I disconnected. I restarted the phone ... no change. I stopped and restarted the vehicle ... no change.
Sometimes, the phone will operate form the screen but not from the steering wheel. It never disconnects during a call, but if it doesn't sync on the first try, it pretty much is not going to any time soon.
I disabled Android Auto and Ford pass to remove those variables.
Infuriating doesn't begin to cover it.
Any suggestions?

How do I reset the system?
I'm assuming I lose the radio stations, memory presets and the 10 little things I changed on Day 1 and have forgotten, but are there are significant consequences to a reset?

A factory reset does. A factory reset is like wiping your hard drive and reinstalling the OS.
The module reset fixed nothing. One phone call works, the next one sends it to purgatory.
I'm on Sync 4 rev 1049. I found I have a stuck update - 10.1.0 - and I found a few Reddit posts on how to jiggle that handle. I'll see if that logjam clears in the next day or two.
I doubt the competence of my local dealer to resolve a software issue, and I use my truck every day for work, so I am trying to avoid that option.
