2021 Brake Service Interval
Manual says change every 3 years, so I called dealer to get price and schedule. They called back and says it wasn't necessary and the ford site they have says no such thing, she even sent me the info and it doesn't. What gives?
And BTW, I searched the site and can't find anything useful.

1. A dealer service department declining a chance to make money off a customer? Shocking!
2. Brake fluid is highly hygroscopic. Get it done every 3 years regardless of mileage. If you have a sports/track car, every 2 is better, because water lowers the boiling point of the brake fluid.

I just had my 21 done a few weeks back and I basically had to beg the dealership to do it. The service advisor insisted it wasn't due, then told me it was a waste of money and premature to perform. I told them over and over it's in my owners manual and I'm doing it. Then about 2 hours later the advisor called me with the tech standing by and tried to dissuade me again because the brake system had to be put in service mode. I'm like yeah. I know. That's why you, the dealer, is doing this and not me. Advisor was flabbergasted, I heard her say to the tech "he knows about the service mode and still wants to do it" *facepalm*
Because lots of them have corrosion of metal parts and plenty of crud in the fluid, just not enough to cause failure--yet.
Intervals can also vary by climate and driving frequency. Drive a lot in a rainy, damp environment and you will need a change sooner that if you mostly store your truck indoors in a desert. Testing the fluid for water content is more definite.
