Default 10 speed transmission 2026

This is good news while I search for a F150. The 10 speed complaints had me a little concerned. Coming from the Mustang Forum I read the same complaints. Why do some have issues and some don't? What s the underlying cause? The above vid totally explains it to me as I have always thought most of the issue is in the "tune". Lots of Mustang owners that have tuned cars (including trans) do not have issues. I have a 6 speed, LOL, but I still read. So my idea is to wait for a 26 instead of hunting for a leftover 25. Another key question is whether the new 26 logic will and can be loaded into a pre 26 and will Ford do that? Let the vid explain all that for those interested.

Another Junk AI created Youtube video.

The last changes to the ten speed was for the 2023 model year. That change to the CDF drum improves long term reliability.

Really? I know about the CDF drum but as you know people are still having drivability issues and possibly long term longevity. I guess this was wishful thinking on my part.
Can you tell me what you know then about the information in the vid? Thank you.

Most of the time when you see a YouTube video with a narrator only, it’s Ai generated slop

Sometime in late 2023 ford did an update to my truck 2023 5.0 and the trans has been smooth as silk since then. It wasn't bad to begin with but their update definitely improved the trans.

The vid may be AI gen.But that doesn't mean that its fiction. The info should be able to be verified somewhere. I would sure like to know the answer to the above question.

The transmission in my 2025 seems completely different then the transmission in my 2020. Alot smoother shifts. Its never been looking for a gear.

I have ford performance tune (2023 with 3.5 ecoboost). Transmission shifting was good before with what felt like an occasional clunky downshift. After the tune, rarely have a clunky and the one in a thousand mike clunky is barely noticeable.

My shifts are not bad, nor is there a lot of "hunting" for the right gear. Main complaint is upshifting way too quickly. Keeping the RPMs at around 1200. Which means a little change in speed causes downshift-upshift a bit too much.
Holding a lower gear keeping the RPM closer to 2000 would stop all that lugging & down & up shifting. Using sport mode is the work around for this. It would be great if the recal, if it can be done, could be done with Forescan!

The transmission in my 2025 is light years better than the one that was in my 2019, much smoother, much less clunky.
