Bar and plate over tube and fin any day. Mishimoto and Whipple are both bar and plate cores.

Is the Whipple worth $60 more when they seem to be the same?

I'd just Google people's reviews to be honest.

There's not a single aftermarket core that is worse than stock. They're all substantially better.
Back in my modding days, the typical rule was tube and fin had less pressure drop than bar and plate. Bar and plate was more efficient but at the cost of pressure drop. So for the boost pressure a tube and fin will be more efficient, but volume wise I believe the bar and plate to be more efficient.

Either will outperform the stock unit by such a substantial margin you'll be amazed Ford didn't think to do better in this realm from stock (though this is pretty common for factory turbocharged vehicles)

Is there an alternative to the Full Race set up for an EB that relocate the cac or do they have the patent for it?

Placement won't be patented. There is at least one more that goes in the same place as the Full Race if I remember correctly.
As far as the cutting, I just totally removed the shutters.

For clarification, I don't know if the gen2 requires any cutting for the full race kit. But I do know their stuff is top notch and I wouldn't hesitate to run it.

There's a lot to be said for knowing it will work as well, vs knowing it should work. $60 more to not worry is easy money imo.

I'm just looking for an alternative to the full race cac so I can free up room for a hidden winch behind the bumper
