Default Intake manifold question

I want to put a newer intake manifold on my 2014 coyote. Heard that the 2018 intake will bolt right on to my 2014. I can not find any concrete evidence that this will work. Does anyone know if I get an OEM intake manifold from a 2018 F150 coyote, will it bolt on?

That will work, you'll have to lockout the IMRC which you can purchase that way. I think the one to get would be from the mustang instead of the f150.

I would advise against it unless you plan on cams. If you do commit, stay at stock tire size or smaller. You will lose a very noticeable amount of low end torque on the swap. I generally wouldn't recommend this mod unless you have every other bolt-on to mitigate the torque loss OR do a lot of highway time and want the passing power.

I have an FBO 2015 with the 18 GT Manifold and I love it - but I see a LOT of highway where I can take advantage and built with future mods in mind. Install is not guaranteed to be smooth, either - there can be a lot of heartache for even the mechanically inclined.

I do agree with this as well. Unless you want to rev it out and make power up to above 7k there's not a ton of advantage. Install seems pretty straightforward from everything I've read. I installed the Boss on my 13' and that was pretty easy.

The 18 truck manifold should not net much low end torque loss and have a little better top end than the stock 11-17 truck manifolds for sure.

I believe user isthatahemi is porting an 18 truck manifold to maximize torque. Between that and his lust for the giggle gas that sucker should hit HARD if it gets the FBO treatment to boot.

Anyway, back on topic - lots to consider here, OP. Know exactly how far you wanna take your build and in what direction. Even power adder choice - if you go that route eventually - should be considered. I will be ProCharging mine, so the 18 Manifold was a no brainer. Not to mention I see six months of snow and didnt think the low end torque of the screw blowers would make the truck at all usable.

I'm in a few discussions with guys who have done both the F150 and the GT manifolds. They say they have noticed low and midrange power band INCREASE with the F150 manifold while the GT manifold had a top end increase and low end decrease. Their tuning playa a large part as well, I'm sure. Also I am swapping from my 3.31 gears to a 3.73 ratio and I am hoping this will offset any low end loss. I just want to continue doing small mods to increase the fun in driving. I doubt I ever go with a SC this late in the game.

I didn't realize the 18+ truck manifold was an ideal option for the 11-14 trucks. That's good to know. I couldn't find any good dyno comparisons for the 18+ truck manifold, only the mustang. If anyone has a good article please post the link. I'd like to learn more.

The mustang manifold on pre 15 trucks is going to be a turd, i wouldn't do it.

the 18 truck manifold may work quite well indeed.

On the 18 trucks though, the 18 GT manifold starts to pickup power over the stock manifold around 6200 and by 7500 it's up 50-60 horsepower.
