Cutting weight
Anyone head down the path of cutting weight from their 150? Curious how much dead weight can be removed easily. How light have you gotten the truck without cutting on it?
Also, anybody know weight differences in the .087, .100, and .110 cross section frames, and if you can even get the .087 frame on a RCSB 5.0?

This thing isn't a race car. I'll never cut weight off it lol. That being said, obviously remove seats, tailgate and spare tire if you're wanting to cut easy weight.

I keep the rear seat pulled from my current truck and will pull the seat from the new one. I'm just wondering how serious guys here are getting about go fast. Some are quick enough that a cage is in order, so not so sure about the not a race car thing.

I used my spare today. A nasty hunk of metal junk found its way into my left-rear tire and it was flat when I came out of the restaurant. Needless to say, I mumbled a few choice words before I set to changing it.
I don't think I'd want to do without it. Maybe on the track, but not on the road.

Well I removed my spare with all the mechanism it was heavy I didn't do it for weight savings tho my truck is low and i couldn't get it out if I had a flat so out it came lol. Theres things like tow hooks, tow hitch, tailgate step, skid plates and etc... but then again why would you remove things you paid extra for idk might be better to just mod up it just doesn't make sense on a truck to do weight reduction, and this coming from a guy who even removed his windshield wipers on his 2016 mustang lol.

I guess this depends on how far you are willing to go...
The bumpers and support brackets can be pulled
All the seats and belts can be pulled, then replace the driver's seat with a lighter one.
passenger airbag module can possibly be removed. (might cause a safety code in the computer, idk)
power window motors
carpet/sound insulation
replace the wheels and tires with smaller/lighter/stickier
brake rotors
radio and speakers
power inverter (if equipped)
obviously, skid plates and running boards
There's a lot of crap that can shed 5-10#s if you really want to strip it down to a race truck.
