Default Grille shutters and heat exchangers

Anyone with a blower using a front mounted heat exchanger disabled the grille shutters? I unplugged mine this weekend just to see what the temps would do, I have the actual temps above the gauges enabled with forescan. Coolant while driving dropped about 2-3 degrees but trans temps went down a solid 10 degrees. I also noticed coolant temps climb quite a bit when stopped and idling...as high as 217 before the fan kicked on at one point. Not sure what that’s all about.
Anyone else tried this and have any feedback on temps?

Did you get a check engine light when you unplugged them, i know gm's give out a light when there shutters are removed. Compared to before did your coolant temps ever get that high, mine never go over 187 but are usually at 183 my fans dont really turn on on blast anymore like they did when I had the stock thermostat.

No CEL. Apparently it throws a soft code but doesn’t light the dash. I see some people removing all but the top 2 slats so everything stays plugged in and technically functioning.
As far as those temps...I can’t say I ever paid any attention.

You can flex the louvers and pop them out of the grille. Once they are out you can plug the motor back in and no codes.

If you've got a blower you'll be tuned, so just disable them open? I don't get why you guys like to work harder than necessary O_o

Procharger has you trim the center support down to this and plug the motor back in to make room for the Huge intercooler. No hidden codes.
