So after the fiasco with the other F150 having a brake failure, the new Agate Black Special Edition is well on it's way to being one bad *** truck! Stay tuned...

Default Update

Hey Guys and Gals, I've been really busy with work lately and haven't had much time to give ya'll an update. Everything runs great and pretty damn fast! I think I did my final top off this morning on the coolant. Every morning it would suck down whatever coolant was in the filler neck due to the air that gets trapped in the system. This morning barely any coolant was sucked down. Thanks @TX-Ripper for the tip on the intercooler top offs. I picked the truck up on 9/4/2019 and today was the 10th day, you were right on the money!

One odd thing I did notice is a ticking sound from the left side, maybe that HPFP (High Pressure Fuel Pump? It only does it on warm restarts and stops when idle drops. I never noticed it before, but I am paying a lot more attention to the engine than I did during the first 557 miles, Pre-Whipple.

Right now I only have about 1,100 miles on the truck, yep it's still a baby. I'm still doing break in changes on the oil, drained it once at 557 during install of Whipple, OPG's, Crank, chains, etc. refilled with MC Full-Syn 5w20, drained again at 1,050, refilled with MC Full-Syn 5w30 at the recommendation of the Service Manager. The old oil was still like new, but my Brother, God rest his soul, built engines in the Army and he always did a 500/500/500 for break-in and then hit regular intervals of 3,000 once the vehicle hit 1,500 miles. We did that procedure with an old 350 4 Bolt Main we rebuilt and put in my '92 Sonoma with 700R4 Tranny. I beat that Truck so hard, I couldn't blow it if I wanted to. With the new engines, this might be a waste, but hey, I have almost 90,000 Ford Pass Points to use so it can't hurt and only help. What's funny, every time I use my Ford Pass points, I gain points, like I paid for the Service. I even brought it their attention and they said, cool, you got paid to change your oil! Not sure what's going on there but, ok!

Last night I installed a front lower grill from an EB and added a nice black aluminum overlay, $30 on Amazon. I think it turned out real nice! It really made a noticeable difference on temps while driving, almost 10 degrees cooler! I would regularly run at 202-206 degrees, as high as 210 degrees after a few good pulls. I ran steady at 195-198 after I installed the lower grill.

I also installed a P3 OBD2 Multi-Gauge w/ analog Boost Sensor. I can monitor Boost, AFR, Coolant Temp, IAT, EGT, Throttle Plate, Vehicle Speed, RPM, Shift-light, Battery voltage, 0-60 timer and a few other timers. Install was very easy, everything was routed behind the lower access panel for nice clean, OE look.

A few other little things, F150 Tailgate letters, AVS BugFlector II, AVS In-Channel Ventvisors, Bushwacker Trail Armor Rocker Covers. I have a set of Nitto Ridge Grappler 35x11.50x20 waiting to be installed once I wear out the OE tires. They should fit perfect with the Bilstein 5100's set at 2.1".

All in all, I love my Truck with the Whipple! I surprise people daily with what this thing can do! So far I have smoked (3) 2018-2019 Stock Mustangs, 2018 Livernois tuned F150 EB Ext Cab, 2016 Camaro SS, older Dodge Challenger (not supercharged). The most fun was the Acura Integra a young kid had all turbo'd out, sounded great but the Black Buggy ate it for breakfast! He followed me to work and hopped out of his car like the police were chasing him, (I thought he wanted to fight me or something at first, lol) and said, "dude, wtf do you have in that thing? My response, just a Whipple! No 4x4 launches, all in Sport mode, 2 wheel, Advance Trac off. I ease into it, don't like punching on it just yet. Honestly, I feel like I am going to break the damn thing it is so aggressive! Can't wait to get long tubes and hi flow cats on it and have a custom tune done!

Any tips or things you guys would do in addition to what I already have done would be much appreciated. I really wanna deck it out! I am not too concerned with body mods or the tacky trim kits and stick on interior mods you find on Amazon. I like things of function and power. Stuff that make my life easier or make the truck more enjoyable. Like the seat latch, that was the best $15.99 I spent on the Truck, other than the Whipple!

Thanks Everyone for the help and tips!

Once I receive the Tesa cloth and fleece tape, I am going to wrap everything under the hood and dash that isn't already wrapped, for an "OEM look". I have a few more electronics to integrate yet such as my Escort Laser/Radar detector, I have a Jammer too (illegal) that integrates behind the grill and a front and rear camera that records while driving. Too many dishonest people (idiots) out there anymore, everything should be recorded to protect yourself.

@TX-Ripper I am still interested in an upgraded HB/Damper. I don't want to have to convert to a 6/6 belt/pulley setup though. I am running 6/4 OEM at the moment. I know I probably i won't have issues since I did the OPG's and crank, but I want to really increase longevity and decrease harmonics more than what the OEM Damper is accomplishing. Anything you recommend?
