Why does my truck stall?

Why does my truck stall?
I have a '91 F-150, 351 V-8, auto. The Ignition Module went bad and the only way I could get to it was to remove the Distributor. In doing so I failed to mark anything and screwed my timing all up. I've reset the timing and the truck sounds like it's running great. However, when I put it in gear it idels way down and stalls. Could someone PLEASE tell me why and how to fix it?

Welcome to the site!
Was the truck running OK before the module went bad?
How did you 'reset the timing'?
Have you pulled the SPOUT connector and verified that base timing is correct?
Were the plug wires removed from the cap during the distributor pull, and if so - are you sure they all went back correctly and not 'one off'?
Was anything else removed or unplugged during this work?
Apologies if these questions seem trivial - but it's difficult to gauge a new member's abilities on their first few posts.

Ran great before. I moved the rotor 1 tooth at a time until it started, and then fine tuned with timing light. I don't even kow what a SPOUT connector is . I did not remove wires from cap. And nothing else was removed or unplugged to my knowledge. The only trivial questions are the ones you don't ask. My abilities are minimal.

The SPOUT connector should be near the distributor. Basically, two wires that go to a connector with a 'plug' - may appear to be an unused connector laying loose.
Need to pull the 'plug' out of the connector - this disables the ignition advance. Then reshoot the timing. Not sure about the 351s, the 302s call for 10BTDC.

351 is the same. There should be a mark on the distributor that matches a mark on the timing cover. When the distributor is instaleld corect like those marks up and its 10 degrees right then.

OK. I removed the plug and reshot the timing (10BTDC). It's still stalling but it seems to be just in reverse. Idel's about 800 - 1000 rpm. When I shift to reverse with foot on the break, it idels down to about 400 rpm. then stalls.
