Just looking for some guidance. I have ran into an issue with one spark plug, the thread came out, but the entire plug is still inside the cylinder. I was thinking of adding small amount of glue on the inside of the thread sleeve and tighten it back down. Then when dry try and remove agian. Any suggestions that may work or help?
Hope you have the Lisle tool. You have to use a long screwdriver and break the ceramic top off of the plug and remove it with (real long) long nose pliers, then you can use the Lisle tool to extract the snout.
You're luckier than me! I had that happen on friday but on both plugs nearest the firewall so I couldn't see down in there and did it all blind, but what I did was stick the plug socket down in the hole connected to the impact and let it break the plug.
The ceramic came out with the electrode and I used the lisle tool the rest of the way.
No pun intended but that's a tough break. Not going to tell you that you did it wrong but what procedure did you use? I got very lucky and had all mine come out without breakage.
I agree with the previous post, you'll have to break the top of the porcelain then use the Lisle extractor. Shoot a little Pblaster down the hole and let it sit an hour, before proceeding. Might even vacuum it out before breaking the plug to keep from getting too much liquid in the cylinder. vacuum out the hole after breaking the plug too.
Watched a Ford tech on Utoob use an air gun to remove plugs and did mine that way after breaking them loose by hand and spraying a little Pblaster in the wells. Waited 20 minutes and they zipped right out.
