I have a 1996 F1-50 5.0 pickup. I need help finding a Air pump/smog pump . Any ideas? I just want to keep my truck running. I just did install a new/used engine 6 month ago with under 15000 on it.

Or "U-Pull" scrap yard, probably $25 maximum for Used.

 

What's wrong with the current pump? How did you not notice the problem when changing the engine 6 mo. ago? Don't you have a spare smog pump now from either the original or donor engine?

 

I had a shop swop the engine! And the engine was shipped from a out side shop. Block and heads no other components

 

So when you said:...you meant someone ELSE just did install.Then I don't think they could have found a "new/used engine"...But they still should have noticed a smog pump problem that was only 6 months from failure.

But you still didn't say what's wrong with the pump now.

 

It is starting to seez . Load and engine light is on. I had the cod pulled and it is the smog pump

 

That's still vague. How can it "start to seize"? What is a load light? What was the code? There is no code that means the smog pump is starting to seize, and no code for any issue with the smog pump. Codes ONLY indicate out-of-range electronic signals reaching the EEC. A code must be diagnosed before a determination can be made about what part(s) might have failed to result in that code being stored. Read this page:

All I was looking for was if you or anyone could point me in the right direction to find a smog pump. All the shops I have called or went to can't find one for my truck!

 

Then the direction is that way.
