I have a 02 F-150 4.6 l 4x4, I am having issues with the idling....when I push the throttle it hesitates and gasps before revving up....also when it is in drive or reverse it has no power and the whole truck shakes...I cant figure out what is going on here. Any suggestions as to what is happening ?

 

I had similar problems with my 1998. It was shaking real bad, had no power, and puffing out white smoke. When I was going down the road the check engine light came on and then started flashing so I knew something was going wrong if it was flashing. I took it to my mechanic and he put new spark plugs and wires on and it has been fine ever since. Maybe check all your vacuum hoses

 

New plugs are in and I have no vacuum leaks.....I have even changed out the throttle positioning sensor.... I'm stuck and have no idea how to resolve this situation.

 

Does anyone have any suggestions? It's not throwing any codes at me so I am stumped...

I wish it was that easy...lol. I am almost wondering if I have a coil out or an injector at this point. This sucks because I cant even drive it around due to it running rough!

I just checked and oreiilys auto parts has one in stock for $12. I going to get it and hope it works... I'll let ya know...

 

The pcv valve didnt work but I pulled a code 1504 which means intake air control circuit malfunction... I could have sworn I had just replaced the IAC around this time last year!
