Default Remote Start Pricing

Dealer quoted me 199 for the reflash, keys cut and programmed. Seems a bit overkill on pricing no? Any of you guys who added this to their 2009-2014 f150 remember how much ot ran them? Or does 199 seem fair?

Not unreasonable.

I bought my friend the OEM kit for about $110 with two fobs off EBay from a dealer. Getting keys carved and the computer work was about that much additional, minus the center cap he needed.

The funny part part was the dealer saying he should have been charged two hours labor for the activation when I gave mi amigo the instructions and he basically tutored them while he was there and I already plugged the antenna in behind the glove box for them.

See the Forscan thread in 09-14 section, for about $30 you can activate it and program the keys yourself with a Windows tablet or laptop and a pass thru usb/obd2 cable. Forscan is the software and that's a free download.

Yea i figured. 199 sounded way to much for what seems to only take about 10 min to do. Will definitely check into downloading forscan. Also you think a bluetooth obd2 works? Or does it have to be wired, all the vids ive seen is with people who have wired obd2s.

I wouldn't trust anything but wired for making programming changes as such. BT ok for reading and erasing codes, watching live data for diagnostics.
