Default jack stands

Im going to be purchasing a set of jack stands today. Was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on a particular set. I know they are just jack stands, but I get real antsy seeing my truck with the wheels off the ground and wondered if anyone had any good/bad experiences with any particular set.

Well no particular brand but go with a 6 ton set. It's sounds like a lot, but the extra height is great for working underneath

Default I have a 10,000 lb set

And I feel good laying under the truck yanking and jerking on axles and things. Mine are Snap On.

The difference between cheap and high grade is comfort.

I don't know if I'd get Snap-on, but I definitely wouldn't get the cheapest ones in the store.

Torin makes double locking jack stands. I have a set of 6 ton stands. They lock normally through the teeth on the neck, and also through a separate bar you slide across to lock the neck in as well. Besides my trucks I have a 6k lb 73 buick I work on and I want to be sure the stands are secure and solid before going underneath.

I have some Allied jackstands that I bought 20+ years ago at Sams Club. Still going strong, and they have been used more times than I can count over the years. Pretty heavy duty and they were quite reasonable as I recall, but don't remember the price.
