Default IWE???

Question for the mechanics. I think that I have a IWE that needs replaced. I have replaced the check valve, solenoid and hub assembly. I still have a rotational humming noise at around 40 mph and above. I unplugged the wiring harness to the 4x4 solenoid, which should engage the IWE to the hub. With the solenoid unplugged there is no noise. My first question is, this would mean the IWE is bad and needs replaced, correct? Secondly, is it ok to drive with the solenoid unplugged, until I get some decent weather to replace the IWE?

It’s a 2015 5.0 Lariat 4x4, doesn’t have the 4A option.

Hmm, learned something, I thought the 4A was standard on Lariat up. At any rate, you'll be fine to drive with the power pulled, just use it like you always would.
