Are you trying to change the fluid or add? I have a 2005 STX and there is a fill plug on the rear driver side of the housing above the axle. Is it leaking? Usually you only remove the fill plug if you are draining and refilling it, because once you remove the fill plug fluid starts to drain out.

Yea I just did mine last weekend, pain in the ****. Is your fill plug on the driver side rear of the housing? If so what I did was I had a straight rigid funnel. I cut the neck to about 3 to 4 inches and attached a 4 to 5" piece of flex tubing to it. Then I inserted the flex tubing into the fill hole brought it straight up toward the driver side. I had to fenangle the quart up in between the frame and the underside of the body and was able to fill it that way. Like i said pain in the ****. took me a half hour to fill it.
