Default Engine Ticking

Ive read on here about engines ticking either when cold or hot. Mine will tick no matter what the temp is, just press on the gas pedal and you can here a slight ticking sound. Still has good "get up and go" but this tick is about to drive me crazy. Any suggestions guys??.. anything would be nice

I also have a couple broken exhaust manifold studs which I know will tick but i was wondering if it could be more serious, like a loose plug or something. hoping and leaning towards the broken studs tho

It might....be your fuel injectors I had a Nissan Titan and that was the problem, some guys suggested changing oil brands but that didn't work...just one of those things we have to live with...

Would running fuel injector cleaner in the gas all the time clear it up?

This thread is pretty old but i got my manifold studs replaced and the ticking sound is still there. Would it be like the belt tensioner or something?, that was my first guess on what was causing it

Its not real loud, my mom in the backseat cant hear it, but i can hear it perfectly fine, this sucks and i want it fixed!!

If you run some Lucas Fuel Injector Cleaner, or Seafoam your truck, you'll probably get rid of it. A friends '92 was ticking like that, he dumped some injector cleaner in on a fill up, was gone within the week. I have yet to fill my tank, but I have the same issue, and I'm hoping the FI cleaner will get 'er done.

I use Amsoil fuel injection cleaner. Just my preference and it works.

Actually idk now, its not really a ticking sound now that the exhaust is quieter, i dont really know how to explain it, maybe kinda like if the sides of the belt were falling apart and slapping everything as it turns, thats the best i can explain how it sounds

Try taking off the accesory drive belt and checking its condition or just replace it. Before putting it back on spin everything it drives to see if there's a noise. Feel how free each turns to see if there may bea tight spot.
