Default Alignment Question

Do I need to get an alignment after i put on new tires and rims? I currently have the stock 20" with stock tire size. Im going to a 17" rim with either a 285 70 17 or 305 70 17.

No. You would only need an alignment if parts were changed like tie rods, ball joints etc.... or if your old tires were wearing unevenly, vehicle wandering/pulling.

That 305 is a lot of tire. Do you have a level? I'm waiting on a set of Raptor wheels (17x8.5) and then I'm going with either 285/75/17 or the 305/70's. I'm concerned the 305's are going to rub due to width. I have 1.5" level . The truck is a '13 SCAB.

YeeHaw. UPS just showed up with my Raptor wheels. Now its off to go tire shopping tomorrow. I really want the 305's, guess I'll just have to see how they fit tomorrow.

I went with the 285/75-17 Toyo AT2 Xtreme. The tire shop man said the 305/70 was just not going to make it and the 285/75 would take a little trimming in the corners of the front fenderwell, due to the reduced backspace of the Raptor wheels. As it turned out the 285/75 took no trimming, and I probably could have gotten away with the 305's, with the trimming already anticipated. Oh well, in hindsight I drive a lot of gravel roads and they would probably give me more chips and dings. Probably also lose a little more economy pushing the wider heavier tire. I'm happy with my choice.

Jason Todd Millemon would like to know if there is an easy way to adjust the front end to reduce uneven tire wear. I see no way to do this and I have nearly ruined one tire already on the inside edge
