Default Sun Visor

I've been working on the interior of my 2013 RCSB. Has anyone re-covered their sun visors?
Are they 2 halves that snap together? Any help would be appreciated, I don't want to destroy
them trying to figure it out. Thanks!

I stripped one of mine since I wanted to recover them as well. The clamps are weird and I did break some of the plastic. I can check tomorrow what I did - it's in the garage in the "Take care of it later box"

Aight so the vanity mirror (if equipped) has 2 screws holding it down and some of the visor material behind it. Screws themselves are behind the vanity mirror's light. Remove the clear cover to access them.

The material is pressed into the visor frame on the retaining clip side - AWAY from the swivels.

The retaining clip is the one that's a bitch to remove since it's somehow clipped inside. I broke it trying to pry it away. I got it out by getting a screwdriver under it and giving a good whack. Got it out but broke part of the stupid internal clip. Might just have to work around that one.

The smaller one around the swivel has two clips you can get to after you pull the material away.

So than, does the visor open up into 2 pieces or will the new material just tuck in around 3 sides?

Visor halves are clamped and riveted together.

Fold the new cover in half, machine sew 2 sides, make your required holes, slip over the visor and tuck the last edge. It's kinda like a sock - will stretch to fit over the visor plastic and gets held in place with the tuck seam.

Thanks for you help and the pictures. I was hoping this could be accomplished without sewing, I don't have a sewing machine.
This is what I am trying to cover

Well if you get the old cover off maybe you could Dremel a channel in the visor plastic and tuck it all around - something to look into.

Other options are see if a friend has a machine. You're not going to need an expensive and fancy upholstery grade one (Juki, Highlead, etc.) - grandma's little arts & crafts Singer will do just fine. Or find an upholstery shop - pair of visors shouldn't be that expensive.

Thanks again!
