It was a lot of work figuring out which pieces will be dipped in the wood and which ones will be dipped in the brushed titanium. Mostly smaller accents in the brushed finish, bigger pieces will be in the wood pattern. Most of the pieces have been marked and tagged already.

haha those are the the speed shape samples the hydrodipper prefers. He says the straight edges on those vintage car sample shapes are better than the typical oval speed shapes most use because he says they’re closer in shape to real interior parts so you get a better idea how the dipped film will turn out, I happen to agree with him. His work is to notch, his attention to detail is insane.

So yes those are just samples, we dipped and sprayed several until we got was I was envisioning. Now we can dip the actual parts.

Long time between updates. All this custom stuff seems to be taking forever.

Part of the interior has been installed but still have more to do/add.

We decided to go much lighter on the black tint topcoat so the wood grain would show better. Glad we made that change as it’s usually pretty dark inside the cab.

Also had additional parts painted in charcoal metallic paint.

Still waiting on several smaller forged carbon skinned pieces to be done, including a couple twill carbon pieces, and a few more wood grain hydrodipped parts. So keep in mind these pics are still a work in progress.

Changed my mind in the engine cover.

I finally found a vendor who came through with proper custom engine badges made from S/S.

I lost a lot of time with two other vendors who wasted like 3 months and couldn’t deliver what I was looking for. These came out perfect, brushed finish gloss black paint filled.

Still working on a billet Ford oval to add. Also might have the engine cover painted in both white and dark charcoal to match other engine bay parts currently being painted. I will be putting up the other extra custom engine cover up for sale soon.

looks good. i could never handle that door personally though - too many varying patterns in one small area. same with the console - multiple patterns on connecting pieces just don't aesthetically work for my eyes.

Of course you’re entitled to your opinion, but my eyes prefer the complete opposite, not a fan of too much of the same monotonous pattern everywhere. Regardless of what you personally prefer, a lot of thought was put into the interior.

I specifically stayed away from:

- Too much of the same exact pattern which to my eyes is overkill and over stimulation, and bordering on tacky. Especially hydrodipped faux carbon fiber which tends to get distorted around curves, lacks depth and looks really fake and a bit velveeta.

I made sure the diagonal patterns of the real twill carbon fiber went in the same exact direction and had the exact same appearance. That’s not usually the case if you look at other interiors dressed up in various carbon fiber interior parts produced through various methods. That’s a pet peeve of mine, carbon fiber in the same exact twill weave but actually having a totally different appearance due to how it’s produced, i.e. vacuum bagged, hand laid, pre-preg. I made sure all the twill carbon fiber matched exactly and only used one shop for the custom forged carbon skinning, so it didn’t look like a bunch of aftermarket parts that didn’t quite match or go together.

It was my decision to mix two types of carbon fiber twill and forged because they are so different I thought it made sense to me. I happen to really like both styles and find the various textures and finishes to be pleasing to the eye. Personally I find the most interesting and tasteful interiors on high end cars and trucks use a mix of different textures and finishes such as wood, metals, carbon fiber, leather, gloss painted surfaces etc,.

Bottom line, everyone has different tastes, and some have no taste. If everyone’s trucks/cars looked the same it would be a boring world.

your carbon fiber parts are they laid over the plastic parts or did you make new pieces ....this is a excellent job well done sir

Laid over plastic/metal parts. It’s called ‘skinning’

A few of the pieces are actually replacement parts like the seat panels, they replace the existing OE trim. Some of the twill carbon fiber you see are very thin overlays made of just twill carbon fiber and a gloss top coat. All forged parts were skinned over existing parts.
