Default XLT push button start

Will this ever be a thing on an XLT model? The only options I want on a Lariat are the push button start and the leather seats, which I could go aftermarket with on the XLT. But no such thing with the push button start. Does anyone think the upcoming years will have an option for a push button start on XLT model?

Probably not.... that's one of the things they use to get people to buy a higher trim.

I'd take this with a grain of salt, but my dealer told me that the push button system is actually cheaper for Ford to produce. So maybe, in the distant future the XL and XLT will be push button and the Lariat and others will be turn key...

I once had a rental car with push button start. I didn't like it at all. Push button start and leather seats were the main two reasons I DIDN'T want a Lariat. I like a key and I like cloth seats. The two Lariat things that I did want, I added myself. I have the tailgate assist shock (OEM, not DEE ZEE) and visors with lighted mirrors and Homelink.

This right here. I like having a key vs just a fob that will eventually die a fantastic death right when I need it not to. Sure I know it has the little holder to put it in to in that event but F a bunch of all the unnecessary electronic crap

I love these kinds of threads, shows the true value of the internets...

"I love this feature, pissed I don't have it."

"I hate this feature, pissed I do have it."

Of course the modern key switch is not the old cranking key switch, and it's a horrible inconvenience to have to turn it... #FirstWorldProblems

Folks is lazy these days. Hell I remember the days of GM vehicles having 2 keys. One to unlock/lock door and one for ignition. It was hell if it was raining and you got em backwards lol

A long time ago vehicles came with push button start. It was mounted on the floor board and was known as a 'stomp starter'. LOL
