Default XLT with push button start

I just bought a 16 XLT last month, and my salesman told me only Lariat and up come with push button start. This is something I really wanted, but wasn't worth the price increase to bump up. My buddy just got the same truck today, but it has push button start. Both XLT FX4.

Does anyone have insight on this and is this something I can add for a reasonable price?

That'd be nice to know. I asked my dealership and they said no. To me, there's always a way!

He's got an XLT and it came from the factory with push button start? Any pics/window sticker/VIN? Hard to believe...it's Lariat on up.

What is that? I asked him to send me a pic of the button and the sticker.

I asked him if it had the same options as mine, and he said no dual panel sunroof but it does have the push button start. Pissed me off. Lol

False alarm. He meant to say remote start, which mine has too. I'd be surprised if that was an option even on the XLT.

So now that I've broke the ice on this subject via his mistake, is there options to add this aftermarket or OEM? Any reviews or suggestions? The key is so damn big it would be worth it to keep it in my computer bag during the day if this is possible.

I would check out the size of the push button start FOB that you have to carry with you if you want to drive before making any changes.

Why do you guys even want this anyways? Just for a smaller fob?

Oem Push button start fob is about the same length as the regular key(as compared to my wife's Edge key) and obviously a little wider. There are aftermarket options but most of them require you to carry a credit card sized key and will allow you to have keyless proximity entry.

It may not seem like it, but it is very convenient to leave your key in your pocket or bag. Especially if your hands are full from groceries and/or beer. I'm in sales and take my computer bag with me everywhere, and I'd love to be able to leave it in my bag all day. I think the key we have is too big since they put the fob and key in one now. I would really like to not even have to put that big *** key in my pocket.
