Anyone notice that the actual XLT grills are different than the XLT grill shown on the ford Build & Price webpage?

Anyone know the story behind that? Or is my grill just weird? I have like six horizontal "slats" rather than the thicker ones.

 

How many "thicker ones" are you seeing? Are you talking about a Lariat 3-bar grill?

 

Depends on the package you have on your XLT, basically all now are XLT with packages, FX4 package, sport package....

 

Chrome package gets the spear shaped grill.

 

XLT 301a pkg gets

 

Okay, I have the 302a package. But has the chrome package looking grill.

 

If you have chrome door handles you have the Chrome Pkg.

The "slats" you are referring to are the bars of what Ford calls the 5-bar BILLET grill. The "thicker ones" you referenced are the bars of the 3-bar with nostrils grill that looks nearly the same as the ATLAS concept truck. The current XLT is available with either the billet or 3-bar grill depending on options/trim levels.
