Why is it so Difficult?
Even if you let the oil drain for 15 minutes, not all of it drains out. If you put 6 quarts of oil in, it will be slightly high. I changed my own oil and let it drain for 2 hours. Went out and put 6 quarts in, and my oil level is slightly above the top hole. Probably half a quart too much.
So if the Quick Lane place is only draining for 2 or 3 minutes (which is what most of them do), then they turn around and put 6 quarts in, you will probably be close to a quart over.
Especially of they start checking the oil and keep adding not realizing it takes another 15 minutes plus for the 2.7 to register on the dipstick.

Update: Spoke with the Service Manager..... good outcome: They were willing to tow it in to the shop, but I didn't think that was needed. Going to drop it off and they offered me a loaner while they check it out.
More to come..... Sorry David Jones. (You don't have click on the link).

As Paul Harvey used to say, and now for the rest of the story. When I picked up t he truck, the oil still looked a little high. It was dark and hard to see, so I brushed it off. Checked the next morning and it was definitely still overfilled!
Spoke with the dealer, said that they drained some off some oil and filled to full. I told them how that worked out..... not too well.
So I brought it back for them to start all over again..... I know somehow we can get the right amount of oil in the truck, after all it is the 21st century. (gratuitous sarcasm, sorry).
So they re-did the oil change and showed me the level when done. Also mentioned that there was a TSB about properly performing an oil change on the 2.7L and that they now follow that TSB......
Interestingly enough, the technician doing the oil change measured how much oil came out of the truck and how much he dispensed to put back in the truck. Turns out that their oil dispenser pumped out over 6.5 quarts when he called for 6.0 quarts....... So there really is more to the story than just following the TSB to allow for proper draining. The secret, by the way, is to remove the filter before draining the oil.
(No voices were raised during the making of this over complicated drama and all parties are satisfied)

Glad to hear it was something simple, even thigh getting there didn't seem to be. Why is removing the filter fist the "secret"? I normally get the oil draining, then attack the filter during the drain time. Normally messing with the small o-ring ensues ample drain time.
They told me that removing the filter first releases the vacuum that holds back some oil. They said that all of the oil might not drain or make it take a lot longer. I guess it’s the equivalent to opening a vent. Removing the oil filter first was how they were instructed in the TSB
Have the same issue as OP. Truck had about 500 kms when I first checked oil( about 20 min after shut down). Slightly above add mark. Decided to check next morning before start up- 2 inches above full mark!
Informed dealer- okay we'll drain and fill to proper level. You guessed it same thing next time. Okay we'll do the proper Ford procedure. Checked it before I left the dealer- seemed good. Next morning-same issue!
Took it to a different dealer, stated the problem so far, he asked why I was checking oil in the morning and not following the proper procedure. The oil has to be warm and circulated he says. I say that the best way to get a proper reading is just before first start. He looks at me like I have two heads. Are both of these "service advisors" idiots or am I missing something. Oh the last one is service manager! I always change my own oil, but wanted this documented in case of possible engine damage.
Thanks for listening
