Default When the heck are we going to get map updates?

Just checked here.com and they still say that I have the most current maps. That's BS. When I've emailed them, I was told they update roughly every 18 months. 2016s with Sync3 have been on the road for well over 18 months now. Why is it so hard to get updated maps?

This was my experience with "Here". Three people who don't know what they are doing.
Of course you need to start at the bottom.

Hello James,

Thank you for inquiring about HERE Maps. We are only the ordering desk for map updates. Unfortunately we have not been provided with that information. Please contact Ford directly.

If you need additional assistance, please send us your feedback by replying to this email.

Kind regards,

Hello James,

Thank you for inquiring about HERE Maps.

Map updates are developed according to the Year, Make and Model of vehicles as not all vehicles have the same navigation system, even if it is from the same Company, like Ford, in this case. Therefore, to accurately answer your question, please provide the Year, Make and Model of your vehicle.

If you need additional assistance, please send us your feedback by replying to this email.

Kind regards,

I was asking for others but I have a 2016 Ford F150. Does this mean different vehicles are supported differently?

Don't they just get updated when you bring it in for service? I know for a fact that when I got my truck in 2015, there was a new part of town that wasn't on the maps, but it is now. Not sure when it updated but I didn't do it myself. I just assumed the dealership does it.

it should update itself as sync3 is GPS based. your 15 has sync2/MFT which has the sd card for maps.

I think you may have ment to say wireless based since navigation units don’t update over the GPS network.

You're not going to get any free map updates, whether you have an SD card, WiFi, Bluetooth, or Sabertooth...

Yep, cheaper to buy a Garmin with lifetime updates.

A couple of nights ago I was waiting for the wife in an area that is heavily populated with restaurants. I did a test between the Garmin and the ford nav. I clicked on the "food" icon of each to do a comparison. The Garmin was spot on. The ford navigation showed 4 restaurants that had gone out of business years ago.

When comparing both units during a 4200 mile round trip to Alabama the poi's listed on the next exit were always different. While the Garmin wasn't as accurate as I would hope, the factory nav was even less.
