Dealer is the clown. Ford does not own the dealership and has no control over what vehicle are used as loaners. Stupid move by a Ford dealer.

This is a really great lesson. It comes up a lot on Car Talk, they will talk about someone replacing an alternator because the battery won't charge, and they don't get why it still won't charge. After replacing the alternator again it's suddenly good.

You have to keep in mind that most of the part issues that cause a problem that bring you into a dealer are just that, part issues, meaning whatever caused that part to be bad from the factory can sure as hell be a problem with the replacement.
