so it would seem that most people who level their truck to install 35x12.50x20 tires use wheels with +20 offset. Then some of these same people are using spacers to push the wheels and tires out further. why not just buy a different offset? what offset would sort that our in one move?

Most of the time they buy the wrong wheel...failed research...
Ok so what offset would you suggest to move the tire out a bit so that one has the more aggressive look of a tire that sticks out of the well an inch or so? I'm quite sure I don't fully understand how offset works. Thx for your help
I think stock is somewhere around +44 (at least on my 2014).
I've got 20x9s with 34" BFGS and -12 offset. Couldn't be happier but wouldn't got too aggressive with out some flares to protect the side of your truck.
I have the same tire size on a 20 X 9" Rim and similar level height in a 4X4. I did a plus 20 which left me (average between the Front and Rear tire reveal at the tire bulge) 3/8" inset. So if you want to project beyond the OEM fender about an inch you would need a negative 12 offset. Same as Boswel, super aggressive, Zero would look cool too
