Hi Nighthawk87,

Waze is not a compatible app. You can find a list of available apps here: http://owner.ford.com/sync-technolog...3-0022197af4af

Thanks. Are there plans to release it or do I have the capability to mirror it?

My understanding that Sync 3 is Blackberry based not android. Good luck with blackberry. I would not be interested at all.

Given some time it will likely work once Sync 3 supports Android Auto/Apple Carplay. I think Ford has plans to release that support within the next year for Sync 3 systems.

Would you forgo the $5000 rebate on a 15 for sync 3? I really want it but 5000 is allot of money

I'm waiting for a '16. I also want a KR which I'm not sure the rebate has been anymore than $1500 on. So based upon that, I may end up getting a '16 as soon as they start hitting the dealers (or order one). I may also wait a bit longer to get some kind of rebate on it, but haven't decided yet.

I'm waiting for multiple reasons... Sync 3, to fix some other issues, and just overall timing of buying the vehicle.

If you have a perfectly working vehicle, nothing wrong with waiting for the '16 to have decent rebates as well.

Hi Nighthawk87,

I'm unable to speculate on future technology. centex99 is correct about Android Auto and CarPlay. We are working on implementing both in the future. Stay tuned to our media site for announcements: Media.Ford.com

I got my 15 last week. .. was distressed to learn a new sync 3 was coming... wish I could upgrade my system as I understand it is a significant improvement but I understand that's not possible .

That's not quite how it works. It isn't based on the Blackberry phone OS, it's based on the QNX system (That later Blackberry phone OSs are based on, but it is not the Blackberry phone OS) that Blackberry bought and is in use by a lot of major automakers and is an outstanding system.

Since it supports Android Auto and Apple Car Play, it can mirror a lot of applications and works great with both systems and will only improve over time. Waze is likely to come in time, even if it is through the Apple CarPlay or Android Auto integrations.
