I don't have any sage advice or knowledge to offer on your brake issues (brakes are one thing I haven't had the (*****, courage, fortitude) to work on yet) but I absolutely second your thoughts on University Ford in Durham. They have had horrible customer service as long as I can remember (some time in the early 90's). I much prefer Crossroads in Cary or even Fuquay if you don't mind driving a bit.

Old enough to know better
I had to replace my beloved 2011 F150 with 291,000 kms on it this spring, after an elderly woman who was not paying attention to her driving, hit it and it was a total loss. I live in a very mountainous area of BC. But my truck still had the original discs on it and they were fine. Yet my neighbor who had a near identical truck was destroying his discs every 20,000 to 30,000 kms. He asked me to do his brake job once for him in case it was the dealer. After I was done I asked him to come with me as I took a drive to do the break in on his new brakes. He asked why I didn't ride the brakes down the very long and steep hill into town. I said that destroys the brakes, so I brake harder and then release them so they cool. He got 70,000 kms out of his next set of pads, and needed pads only and not discs after he learned how to brake correctly.

I bet you do not lightly drag your brakes for long time periods.

I’m getting some wobbling when i brake on my 17 with under 5k miles. Rotors probably starting to warp. I may call the dealer but if they give me a hard time and/ or only offer to turn rotors i will probably just swap them myself. FOr under $100 can add a brand new set of rotors to the front in probably about an hour in my driveway.

I have been dealing with warped Rotors on my 2015 F-150 Platinum since it had 9K miles. Already been turned once, and I have lived with the shuddering for numerous miles because it hasn't been convenient to take the truck for the day to leave it. Yesterday, I probably decided not to own another Ford Truck after 23 years and 5 F-150's. My dealer told me the warped Rotors would not be covered under warranty and that it was possibly my driving habits. Well, I have never had a vehicle with Warped Rotors in all my years of driving. I told the Service Manager and the advisor I was not happy with this and would be contacting Ford and filling out every online survey I could find. Went home and decided to check the torque on my wheels and each were over 200ftlb.instead of 150. This could also be a contributing factor since they are the only ones to rotate and touch the wheels. I wont be going back to Ford for any service, I'll find another Truck to tow my boat and I would advise anyone not to use the Dealer I went to. UNIVERISTY FORD North in Durham, North Carolina. I advise anyone that has dealt with warped Rotors on the F150 to take it in early and often. I consider it a warranty issue, but apparently Ford does not. Lets see if the call I made to Ford after I left the dealer actually does get a follow-up. I'm also looking at purchasing a Domain with the dealers name in it but a variation so that I can openly post every critical thing about the dealer. Again anyone on the Forum. That is UNIVERSITY FORD in DURHAM, NC. DO not take your truck here
I experienced similar service or lack there of back when I got my then new 2006 F150. One half of the bumper wasn't bolted to the frame and it bounced up and down and scratched through the paint on the side of the bed all the way to the steel. The closest dealer told me to take it back where I bought it(WTF?). One phone call to Ford did the trick, and the body shop manager was told that he was to honor the warranty, install the bumper bolts, and repaint the side of the bed. The bolts were never in there because there were no scratches on the frame from bolts being torqued down, so it wasn't a shoddy lot-damage repair, it was a factory screw up.
After that, I found a much, much smaller dealer to do our work and I've been happy. So small there is one service manager, and he's also the parts guy. And the owner of the dealership is the salesman and finance manager.
