I guess that I'm the odd man out in that I do like it would be willing to drill the holes to mount it. If later down the road you change your mind simply remove the rack and use some plastic body plugs to seal the holes.
As for validation, if you have to ask for another's opinion then you are doing it for the wrong reason.

On Edit: Before you mount it, if you park in a garage measure twice and make sure you have the clearance overhead at the garage door opening.
