Default Using Ford Credit

So I bought my truck and used ford credit to qualify for their rebate in September. I was told that I need to use ford credit for at least 6 months in order to fully qualify for the rebate. But I have not seen this anywhere in writing. Just wondering if anyone else has refinanced after using ford credit and had the same rebate or if anyone has the fine print to using ford credit and getting rebates. I believe it was like $750. My interest rate isn't the main reason but its to hopefully get my father off as the Co signer to free him up again.

Lol..the dealer got you. You can refinance the next day. The dealer gets zero cut if you don't stay with Ford Credit for 6 mos.

Refinance tomorrow and call you dealer and tell them they lied to your face.

Only need to have it for one month. I've done it twice now. You literally only have to make the first payment.

False.

No time required. I financed with Ford Credit for the rebate and paid it off the very next day.

Ok. Well, I've been told that as recently as yesterday when I picked my new truck. The second one I've done that way.

If that worked for you, great.

Most dealers lie about it.

You CAN refinance/pay it off immediately.

The dealer gets the rebate, in this case $750 charged back to them if you, the customer doesn't keep the financing with Ford Credit for at least 3 months, which is why they lie to consumers.

It depends on how much you value your relationship with your dealer.

My latest dealer was honest and informed me...kindly asked if I could wait 90 days if possible. Most dealers are not forthcoming with those facts. And one of our former employees left and now works for a local dealer and confirmed their practices.

Don't wait, you can refinance the very day of your purchase.

I'll hand it to Dpatrick in Evansville IN. They straight up told me I could refi the next day but they wouldnt get any kickback. They didnt beg, said they didnt care.

Told me most dealers lied to their customers.
