So I’m leaving my ecodiesel to get back in a f150. I want a 5.0 since I believe it will be less hassle for the next 10 years. I have found plenty of 16 XLT sport 302a trucks but they all have 3.31 or 3.55 gears and all are built in Ontario or Quebec. I found a clean 15 black with the 3.73. Thinking possible towing in the future and I just like the extra giddy up. Think I won’t mind a 2015 that was built off the assembly line around 12-19-14?

 

My son and I both have '15s and love them. We both have ecoboosts. Just go through the TSBs/recalls that are applicable to your truck and make sure they are applied. The harsh 5-4 downshift fix and the door locks were big for me. Get familiar with Forscan. Lots of mods you can do on a 302. You can add NAV if it doesn't have it for the price of an SD map card. Add adaptive cruise for under $500. Go to the Forscan sticky, go to post #1 and pull up the how to..

 

Yea I’ll make sure it has the the tsb’s. I think the biggest worry is its just that it was built in the beginning of the 15 year production. I’m just glad it was in the US it’s whole life. So many trucks from Canada down here.

 

 

 

Go to the link listed below. I have a 2015 Lariat 500a 3.5 EB. I had the wiring for the heads up display for collision warning under the panel. I also had to solder the shutter power in the harness to get power to the radar sensor (just like the 302a)

I bought a used 2015 F150 from Canada. I have a 5.0 w/ 3.31 and I absolutely love it. Average 20 mpg on the lie-o-meter. As mentioned, the 5-4 harsh downshift tsb was a big fix for me. Had the frozen locks recall done as well. 2015s are the only year you can add NAV as well! Enjoy!
