Question Upgrading to Sync 3 - Is this real?

Hey guys, as Sync 3 came out, I did some googling around and came up on this:

http://www.oemautopartsco.com/produc...FROTfgodKp4EGA

If this is legit, it seems like for us '15 owners that want to upgrade to Sync 3, there is an option to do so if the site is to be believed. What do you guys think of this?

Well.

It is an OEM solution replacing an OEM solution, so it might be possible if Ford intended to use all the existing wiring harness during the upgrade.

It's also "coming soon" and promises to make a seamless upgrade from one technology to another, so its probably never going to come out.

Someone else brought this up recently on another thread here.
I wrote to them to get some more details because I figure it means replacing your APIM and your touch screen and if this company will buy those from us.
Here was their response:

We are currently trying to finalize what is entailed on getting the SYNC 3 up and running in pre-SYNC 3 vehicles.

We are currently offering $200 for your existing APIM module.

For 2k, you can upgrade to an excellent Alpine head unit that will do soooooo much more ... It's a no for me at this price point.

I paid $800.00 (at 4D-Tech) to add navigation to my 2015 F-150. Although expensive that was reasonable since Ford charges $695.00 for the navigation option.

Paying 2k for a different screen look and maybe a bit more features is a waste of money in my book.

Like buying crack from Ford, if your addicted it will address you initial desire for the tech high but then you will be bored and looking for another fix. This so should have been made available to the 2015 crowd it makes me disappointed that they knew tha change was coming but didnt plan for it for new owners. Would be a death plan for Apple or Microsoft.

My opinion
