Updated with wrong format usb
I attempted to update my sync3 to 3.0 but formatted the usb drive fat32 instead of exfat. I only have myself to blame for being in a hurry and not paying attention to what I was doing. If you were ever curious what would happen if you do your update with a usb formatted to fat 32 instead of exfat it will make your touchscreen unresponsive and now it will not respond to the correct usb. The wired car play still displays the phone but you can’t change anything because the touchscreen is unresponsive. I’m hoping one of you has a solution, I’m not thrilled with the idea of letting someone at the dealer “try to figure it out”
thanks and best regards.

Can you do a master reset, or try disconnecting the battery?
To perform a Soft Reset:
To perform a Soft Reset:
- Press and hold the Seek Up (>>|) button while pressing and holding the Radio Power button.
- After approximately 5 seconds the screen will go black, release the buttons.
- Allow some time for the system reset to complete.

At this point I can’t get the system to respond to a freshly formatted drive. When I was finished with the first update it said it was successful and I had no reason to think I did anything wrong. The screen said to turn off the truck to restart the system, when I did that was when the screen quit working. I’d be willing to try 3.4 but the system doesn’t do anything when I put the update usb back in.

There is no difference between FAT32 and exFAT. I'm a big contributor to the 3.0 to 3.4 thread, lots of upgrades, downgrades and conversions to my credit. And it doesn't make a difference what you use. Some people can't get a drive recognized due to the way it is partitioned.
At this point, your best option is the unhook your battery so everything resets. Also, use a completely different USB drive. There are so many cheap drives out that not only have the wrong type of partition table, they also report larger size then they actually are.
