Default Training the EPAS

I tried this today, while driving I rocked the wheel back and forth, not enough to make it weave, but enough to give the EPAS a different direction. It seemed to want to pull right now, instead of left. Maybe some more training? It is at the dealer for frozen door recall, and I request an update on the EPAS as well.

I don't think you are "training it" by doing that. The truck probably just thinks you're drunk and ran a self diagnostic on the airbags just in case.

EPAS absolutely learns the more and more you drive.

EPAS does progressively and slowly get better over time, but jerking the wheel is not in the tech manual, lol

This makes me wonder, if EPAS will hide things like bad alignment, what we would otherwise investigate because our car pulls left or right (usually an alignment problem)... or hide a dragging brake pad, or dragging wheel bearing.

I wonder if EPAS, is interconnected to that rest monitor system... as now that I think about it, when I first got my truck I was constantly getting the "Pull over and Rest" warning (the Coffee Cup), usually at the weirdest times... But, as time went by, that came up less and less.. where now, I haven't seen it in months!

Or. it just learned, that I am going to ignore it and keep going and stopped displaying the Coffee Cup.

It is related. Mine doesn't drive straight half the time so I always get the please rest messages.

Mine works fine now, it sure did not hurt it, it probably told the computer to get the truck put on track.
