Default Trailer hookup

Need help with figuring out the tow package I have. So I was told I have the max tow package, but I don't have a trailer brake controller. It's a 2015 Lariat Fx4 package. All it asks me when setting up the trailer is what type of brakes. Doesn't allow me to adjust the gain. I don't know if this makes any sense to your guys. Hahaha

If you don't have this Brake Controller below your 4x4 ****, then you do not have Max Tow Pkg.

If you don't have the brake controller, you can't adjust the gain... Unless your trailer has surge brakes, you need a brake controller.

You were told wrong and need to redress that first. From what you say you are a long way from any tow package.

If you don't have the brake controller (similar to what is shown in Pikapp's post, located below the **** in 52isntbigenough's post) or even the **** shown in that post, you certainly did not buy a Max Tow vehicle.

You can install the brake controller, Ford OEM, on your truck. No need to go aftermarket.

I do have the tow hookup settings in the tow menu thru the dash. Where I can name the trailer and set it up. I have both hookups on the bumper for the wiring. What else should I look for?
