quick question for someone about the setup. I installed my TBC on my 2014 f150 stx and had a it flashed today. When I go into the setup button under tbc it gives two options. Electric/eoc? What is the eoc option for? It was set to electric. I do get the no trailer connected when I slide the switch over and the gain buttons work when I push them just was wondering what the EOC option was for and I've read and googled for everything.

Quick question for someone. I had my computer flashed today to activate me newly installed TBC. Its working and showing on the display on my 2014 STX. Under the setup button for TBC it has option for electric or EOC. What is the EOC option. Thanks

Hmm... the 2 options are actually Electric vs. Electric Over Hydraulic. Not sure why it would say EOC instead of EOH, but those are the 2 types of electrically-actuated trailer brakes that are common in the market.

I don't think yours is wired....look for a wiring plug under the dash or a plug that came in a plastic bag with wires in on it in the glove box....that is to add a aftermarket brake controller.

If you tow anything g over 5k add a after market controller and a inexpensive trans oil cooler

Thanks for the info. I hope to be able to go tow my car hauler this week and see how the brakes feel since they have never been used since I bought it new in 2011. Oh I might not have been looking thru my bifocals...ha..ha..ha...

That bag is to add the aftermarket controller. Do you have a factory receiver with the 7pin and 4 pin plugs? If you do then you can add the factory brake controller. I have that same bag in my glove box but I had factory tow package added to my truck but they didn't tell me about the controller till later when I asked. Its a very easy to add the factory controller to your truck.

This is exactly what I had to do with a previous truck. Since then I always get the towing package.

I don't mind having to get the brake controller. Some on the market are really good and some are garbage. I did install Ford's OEM controller this weekend but still need to get it flashed. Hope it works well. If not I'll swap it out for a after market one.

On Ebay there are 2 different part numbers people are selling for 2016s. One is FL3Z-19H322-AA and the other is GL3Z-2C006-AA. Sometimes instead of -AA at the end of the number they are advertised as -AB. Would somebody please explain why there are different part numbers? Which part number should I buy? Or does it matter? I assume the -AB is a more recent release than the -AA.

Ford part numbering on modern vehicles looks bad, but once I figured it out it makes a lot of sense. What I'm about to say applies to MODERN ('99+?) part numbering, not historical, so keep that in mind.

The first segment is the prefix - FL3Z - this tells you what vehicle it is for. It breaks down into 3 chunks; F, L3, & Z.
F: This is the revision year of the part (Not your trucks model year!). F = 2015, G = 2016, etc.
L3: F150/F250
Z: Division that "owns" the part. Z is customer service. I find this piece to be irrelevant.

Then comes the part number. All TBCs produced by Ford have a part number of 2C006. The model that a TBC applies to comes from the prefix.

Finally the suffix. This is a part revision based on the prefix. If Ford does a redesign mid year, they can't change the prefix. The suffix takes care of that. You want the "highest" one here because it is the most recent. I'm not sure how they choose if a revision is AB or BA, but I do know that BA is better than AB. CA is better than BA, etc. Keep in mind as well that Ford typically has backwards compatibility, but not always forward. A truck that was built with an -AA part can likely use a -CA part. A truck built with a -CA part may not be able to use an -AA part.

So for you, you'll likely want GL3Z-2C006-CA as 2C006 is module only. 19H332 comes with relay and fuse, which if you have a tow package already you do not need it.

Source: Installed 2C006 into my '15 Lariat.
Edit: Also if you want some piece of mind you can see this older thread- https://www.f150forum.com/f118/trail...2015-a-309869/
