I recently mounted and balanced some new tires on my 2016 SCREW with 20" wheels. When dismounting one tire, I accidentally broke one of the TPMS sensors. I ordered a new Ford OEM sensor (315mHz) and put it on the wheel. I also ordered the Ford OEM TPMS relearn tool. Upon doing the relearn procedure, I can get all the original sensors to relearn except for the new sensor I just put in. I don't know if there is an additional pairing step that needs to be done?
This is what the sensors look like on mine. The one you've shown may be the correct frequency but not compatible.
You shouldn't have to do the relearn procedure. I've found the system will find them after a few miles of driving.
Are you positive it's the right sensor? I'd start with that. As far as I know, you don't even need a 'learning tool' for this truck. Was I wrong? I remember reading you just have to drive a few miles, and the truck learns any new sensors, or a new location, but maybe I'm wrong. I'd like to know for future reference. Good luck.
Well it was exactly the same as the others on my 2016 including the one I broke. My truck has 42k miles and they were the OE tires still so I'm sure the TPMS sensors were never changed.
315mHz is the correct frequency... I had to buy a set of TPMS sensors for new wheels. What PN did you order? I ordered F2GZ-1A189-A and they work... as others have said, the truck found them after a few miles. You may have a bad sensor or they sent you the 433 Mhz sensor in error. If you go to a tire shop, they should have a scanner to see if it's working.
Your truck automatically relearns the position of the tires and picks up new sensors on its on. My suggestion is to drive around for a while to see if it comes up. You do not need a relearn tool.
