This way you know all 4 sensors are programmed properly to your truck. Don't worry about remembering the location of each sensor when you activated them. The truck will learn their location and read properly once installed and mounted on the truck.

The tool activation process is not done via letting air out of the tires, but with the tool and following the correct directions.
I bought new sensors and tool on Amazon but the system isn’t picking up the sensors still.
You sure they don’t have to be pressurized to work?

If you haven't installed them yet they won't be active. The sensors go into a sleep mode when not in use to preserve battery life. They need to be rotated (as the wheel turns) several times to wake up. Once installed, you need to drive several miles before they will pair and show up on your TPMS.

Thank you thank you thank you

Tire shop just informed me that all the wheel nuts are rounded and I had to go buy new ones. $200 later.
FFS this is turning into a money pit!

Well I drove 8 miles and still nothing showing up. I tried using the tool to pair it and nothing. I confirmed the sensors were the right ones for the truck

Their Amazon ad says you need a ATEQ VT46 tool to wake them up. Even though the ad shows a FoMoCo sensor, these are not Ford or Motorcraft sensors which auto-wake and auto-learn.

From their Amazon ad:

Just check it. Specific steps are as follows Check Sensor in ATEQ VT46→Select vehicle brand and mode year →Select tire location then push button to trigger→Wake up sensor successfully.

That tool is for the Motorcraft or Ford sensors. Googling ATEQ VT46 shows it as a commonly used tire shop tool.

Good luck.
